Family and Friends
My intentions were to show what types of things a friend might decide to buy and how they plan to sue those items. I wanted to show this by taking multiple images of the same person holding different items they had decided to buy such as in this case tools and other DIY items. This is shown in the images below as the subject can be seen holding strange items that a typical teenager would not consider to purchase.

Throughout my process I was able to develop my photography skills in a number of ways. This was seen through the various pictures I had taken of my subject. I was able to develop and manipulate these images in numerous ways such as within Photoshop by changing the lighting and saturation of the images. Taking the images also developed my skills as it allowed to explore more features when using the camera such as the manual mode to individually change the aperture and ISO of the image. The camera was also used in conjunction with a tripod to make the images seem more level and reduce blur when taking the image. This showed that I had developed my knowledge towards taking pictures and allowed me to take my photography further.
I had chosen to take picture of friends and what they decided to do in their daily lives such as how they spend their money on different things and what they intend to do with those items. I began to explore this idea by taking a portrait picture of my friend with the item they had bought and experimented with different lighting conditions and where the image was taken, this was seen by taking some images with the lights off and just the lights emitted by the product being shown. I had chosen to take the images on a white clean background as it allows the reader to focus more on the individual rather than the environment. The images showed a wide range of strange items that had been purchased by the subject and therefore presented me with a wide range of images to take. Whilst editing these images I used the crop tool to make the image more centered and to make the viewer focus more on the subject and not the background.
Overall I had also expanded my knowledge towards composition and techniques such as depth and space within the images which was achieved by focusing on the product that the subject was holding instead of the subject themselves, additionally I also began to explore different ideas than I usually would such as portrait photography as it allowed me to see the emotions of the subject and how they are feeling about the thing they had purchased. The images show that the subject was connected to the products in way that they feel justified with their purchase.
